Nominations for “District 6 Officers” are now open

As we have been informing the membership, we have been moving toward the direction of “Suspending” the Chapter and operating within District 6.

In years past District 6 comprised of the Riverside Chapter and the San Diego Chapter. Since San Diego separated from District 6 we have been operating with only the Riverside Chapter and also maintaining the “District “ Board.

Dissolving the “Chapter” and operating simply as a “District” can streamline this operation and reduce a few duplicate positions. Therefore, at the conclusion of the convention occurring in January of 2015, all the “Chapter” officer positions will dissolve and we will ONLY require “District Officers.

The structure and duties for the most part will be identical as the “Chapter”. The District Vice President will have the same authority as the Chapter President. All the other positions are the same with the exception of the word “District” in place of the word “Chapter”.

Here is the make up of the District Officers:

The Officers of the Sixth District are the District Vice President, 2 Deputy District Vice Presidents, District Finance Director, Deputy District Finance Director, District Rank & File Director, District Rank & File Reps, Deputy District Rank & File Director, District Supervisor Director, District Retiree Director, and a District Secretary.

The following positions are up for election as a result of these changes: District Vice President, both Deputy District Vice Presidents, District Finance Director, Deputy District Finance Director, District Rank & File Director, Deputy District Rank & File Director, District Supervisor Director and the District Retiree Director.

Nominations will remain open until Monday Morning, 8 am, October the 20^th.

Nominations for candidates may be by mail, or in person at a Union meeting.

Anyone being nominated for office must have given his/her written permission by letter or by email to the person making that nomination prior to the nomination.
